Ruby has always walked the line between food and science. Her mother was a psychiatric nurse, wonderful cook, and exceptional gardener. Holistic care was something she learned from her parents very early. During her undergraduate studies at Dalhousie University Ruby constantly experimented with flavors and started a small catering business. At the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy Ruby interned in several community pharmacies and research labs, co-authoring 2 peer-reviewed journal articles. Her independent studies, however, were focused on nutraceuticals and functional foods. For her final presentation, she created a complementary functional-food tasting menu. ''It was definitely a first for my professors!''

Ruby then attended the Liaison College of Culinary Arts where she graduated with honors and received their Presidential Award. After moving to Washington state and gaining her pharmacy license, Ruby enjoyed patient-focused care in community and hospital settings. Her love for food and wellness also expanded – she has worked for companies to create videos, taught cooking classes, and has done live events.

Ruby loves spending time with her family, reading, vinyasa and awesome sceneries. Her future plans include writing a book highlighted with recipes from around the world!
